All About Small Business Saturday

A very big day is coming up! No, not Thanksgiving, although that is an important one to look forward to, as well. What we are talking about is Small Business Saturday, which will take place November 29th, 2014. Small Business Saturday, founded by American Express in 2010, is all about getting small businesses the recognition that they deserve and bringing in more customers. We want to break it down a little bit for you, so that you can make sure to participate!

What it is

As we previously mentioned, Small Business Saturday is a day that was originally set aside by American Express in 2010 as a day to encourage people to support nearby small businesses. It’s the perfect time of year because it allows people to kick off their holiday shopping!

While American Express may have given this day its support first, it has actually become an official day, supported by the U.S. Senate and President Barack Obama himself!

How it works

So, it’s obvious this day is all about promoting your small business. You might be thinking, “How is this different from any other day? I promote my small business every day.” This is where American Express steps in to help. American Express will help you promote your small business by helping you produce free promoted ads that will reach millions across the Internet.

You’re in, right?!

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? We would love for as many small businesses as possible to get involved in order to spread the small biz love! You can go here to get involved and learn more- whether you’re a small business looking to reap the benefits, or even if you’re just a consumer looking to find amazing small businesses near you. Let’s make this amazing day count!

We can’t wait to see what this year’s Small Business Saturday has to offer. Please reach out to us if you have any questions! If you would like help with your social media presence all the time, we can help. Simply visit us at www.SocialCentiv.com or Tweet @SocialCentiv to learn more.
