What's to be expected in the digital marketing world in the years to come? We looked into our in-house crystal ball for revelations of the future and here’s what we found.
Content marketing takes the cake
Content marketing is a great way for a business to take ownership of their presence online while providing valuable information for their readers. Approximately 70 percent of readers enjoy reading custom content provided by a brand, rather than an advertisement, according to Demand Metric. Content marketing not only helps educate readers about a particular subject, but it is also responsible for helping to improve brand loyalty, generate leads, and increase direct sales.
Social media goes local
This is the year social media will make its way into our daily lives. Small businesses can leverage social networks to tap into the minds of Gen Y and influence their buying behaviors. Rather than updating their Facebook status and hoping customers will come flooding in, small businesses are encouraged to proactively listen to what their online communities are talking about online. Once a business understands what their customers are talking about, they can begin to fulfill their needs.
Websites optimized for mobile
According to Trinity Digital Marketing, approximately 1.2 billion people access the Internet using their mobile devices. So, it makes sense why more and more companies are optimizing their websites to be compatible with the screen sizes for mobile phones. Additionally, Google reports that 95 percent of smartphone have searched for local information. Making your website mobile-friendly is a great way to enhance the user interface that can (likely) lead to more leads for your business.
